The Deeper Network Mini slows down my home network, members in my house are complaining about the speed and blah blah blah, this workaround doesnt affect the home network and still work well.
And yes, you need a NAS, mine is Synology.
Moderm<-(LAN)->Router <-(LAN)-> Deeper Network<-(LAN)->NAS (setup VPN)
All devices connect the router by LAN or wifi as usual, if I need DPN, connect to VPN.
My phone/ ipad connect home wifi, and VPN to NAS. Deeper Network wont affect other device, BUT I have tested that L2TP doesnt work, OpenVPN works well so far
*with OpenVPN, you will need a domain name and route 80 directly to the NAS DSM
