Admin password keeps resetting to 'admin'

I keep having to change my password. Every time I change it, it works for a few hours maybe a day, and then I go to log in one time and it denies with that password. So I try 'admin' knowing it is the default , and it logs me in. Then I have to change password again.

I keep an eye on the version number and it has not changed up or down, so I am not sure why it randomly resets the passwords if it is not because of an update.

Is there a reason why the DeeperConnect Mini would keep resetting my admin password to something insecure like 'admin'?

Say I go away for the weekend, and the DPR mini resets the password to 'admin'. Then let's say an attacker breached my network and located the DPR mini and log in to my firewall with default password 'admin' to change rules to allow them easier access to the network.

This is actually a serious security flaw you might want to fix. The firewall cannot provide security if it keeps resetting the admin password to default allowing attackers into the DPR mini. A hacker's wet dream is a system that resets passwords to 'admin' for them. Hell they could even lock me out of my own damned network!

Is DPR going to fix this serious security flaw? Aside from being a security concern, it is just damned annoying to constantly have to change the password from 'admin' back to what you set it to before.

I noticed I was on version 1.1.6rel and the auto update did not work. So I put it on manual mode, and found the firmware for 1.1.11rel here https://deepernetwork.cc/t/firmware and manually uploaded it.

Now it appears that it is running the proper latest firmware (1.1.11rel) hopefully this solves the admin password changing all the time...

I will post back an update in a few days if this fixed it.

Well, it appears the problems are fixed. After upgrading to 1.1.11rel it seems the problem with arrows on the map disappearing is fixed, as well as the admin password resetting back to 'admin' all the time.

I have noticed also I get a lot more connections in and out, and it seems to make it faster and more stable.

I will give it one or two more days to see if the admin password problem is fixed. I will post back here only if there is still a problem, so if you see no other posting you can assume it worked.

I am a bit confused why such a simple solution got not a single reply but hey, I figured it out anyways.

I appreciate the hard work the DPR team has put into it's products 😀

Turns out the admin password still resets to 'admin'

But the other problems are fixed 😄
