Can the direct IP list support wildcard “*”. I have add 5 pages IP list for now 🤣

ex: 101.226.226.188,101.226.226.193 --> 101.226.226.*

I just tried 192.168.0.0\24 and /24 do luck. Wasted 15min adding the whole subnet 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254 and re-enabled the Smart Route given that with a fan blowing over this it has been stable the past 2 weeks. This is SO A in Dev product. I still think it could be great, but right now it's just a box getting warm.

As per the other thread about over heating, for me the smart routing does not work. so many issues. I use streaming like Netflix, Disney + and Amazon Prime which should route to local AU country for AU specific content but route to USA. I understand why, but the only way for me to fix this was to add a AU tunnel, which then meant I had a SLOOOOOOW service for everything on the subnet. Need a better smart route.

Ok, only 40 min worth or Smart Route from the above change and completely no internet!!!!! So Disabled once more, this is just a box using power inline so far :-(

H, see my post 6 days back. I had to add every IP like 19.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 etc. all the way to 192.168.0.254 (I have quite a few machines), it worked for 40min than complete no internet, yet the admin page looked like everything was fine! I think the next test for me is to set it back to Smart Route with this IP direct routing in place and reboot and then see if it is stable . It seems to not like a mode change without a reboot? I am on leave the next 6 days so will experiment after that once more.

Funny thing is it still runs warm 50C even with the small PC cooling fan blowing over it and is 100% stable in Disable mode, but once Smart route is on, locks up randomly all the time and needs a reboot to restore service yet the web admin page seems to show it working????????????????????

My update, back from leave, have the full IP address space of 192.168.0.0/24 added as direct routes. Changed to Smart Route and it was good for 10 min or so than no traffic, the web UI is up and it appears to be working but no traffic is flowing. Did a web UI Reboot and waited, it was than non-responsive. It would not bring up the web UI, and not answer pings on the 34.34.34.34 or 11.22.33.44 addresses. Did a power cycle and in 2 min all the tunnels were back up and internet was now work! SO ALWAYS DO A POWER CYCLE AFTER YOU CHANGE MODES!!!

Been running over 24 hours now and seems stable.

I was watching Netflix last night and I am in AU, but noticed that it states on a new series I wanted to watch No#1 in USA today! So added domain direct route netflix.com and a few more and it is now reporting AU shows.

I think this will be a very good product with some more software dev. and for me it is now usable. But it is a complex device and not having a clear user manual with explanations and examples, is very confusing.

I should add that with my above changes the memory and CPU usage has gone up about 5%, the device reported temp is now 54C and that is with my external PC case fan slowly (keep the noise down) blowing over it.

@amigacli, I am interested in your config. Are you set-up with full routing or smart? It seems Smart. What did you reboot? The DC or your router? I presume you are set-up with Modem->Deeper Connect->Router/wireless for your home/office??

I can't get this to work at all.

When you also say you "have the full IP address space of 192.168.0.0/24 added as direct routes", how is this set-up? I can't seem to be able to add anything but specific IP addresses.

Otherwise, I agree that the documentation posted is insufficient. It basically just tells you what you can read on the pages anyhow. It would seem to me that they could self-document everything right within the UI too. i.e., "I" buttons or hoverovers.

Hi, ISP Modem->Deeper Mini->OPNsense-Firewall->LANandWiFi

Smart routing is on, in Routing - Domain config i have added streaming services like netflix.com to force local route first in AU, this way I get full speed on them.

In Routing IP Config I added 192.168.0.1 all the way to 192.168.0.254 which is my local LAN, this way all machines get local routed and not via a VPN tunnel so get full speed and lower latency.

If I access a web page or service that is say in USA like xxxxxxxxxx.com that is not defined in the Domain config it gets routed via a VPN to USA, so do not setup a local country VPN else you get stupid slow speed and very high latency in AU in my case.

I have also found that while the above is generally working well, internet speed and latency increase at least each 24 hours all of a sudden, checking the web UI it all looks normal but within a few min I have no internet :-( and then I do a web UI Reboot of the system, 2 min later internet is back up.

So, still not happy, unstable firmware and it really needs a cooling fan, if this is not fixed soon it might have been a complete rip off and wasted time, effort and money.

I do hope this issues with stability get fixed, as I do like this concept.

amigacli Let me show you what I did to help with the heat. Can you be a little more detailed with your configuration?

I have the NANO and the MINI.

also these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LPJYH49?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
and mounted the fans on top of the heatsinks. Then applied the heatsinks onto the nano and mini. With the MINI I used the following on one side only (both fans and heatsink) and with the nano I used top and bottom.

Then connected the USB cables to the USB ports, you can use a splitter or just connect both cables into ONE.

It helps... but I still want to open the devices and see how it looks, and maybe do something better. I wish I had ictures of them opened.
